Quite the humbling day standing amidst 134 columns 8' wide and 100' tall. That was the scene today at Karnak, the largest religious structure in the world.
Valley of the kings, temple of Hatshepsut, Karnak temple to Amun, Luxor Temple, all make your jaw drop at the grandeur of the "New" Kingdom. Of course, by "New" I mean 3500 years old with paint still visible and vibrant (beat that Sherman Williams).
Throughout the trip the generosity and hospitality of the Egyptian people has been first rate. Sayed and Shaimaa, our tour guides in Cairo and Luxor respectively, have taught us much about Egypt then and now. From Tut Moses III to sugar cane juice, they opened our eyes to Egyptian culture.
Wifi is only available in the lobby, so pictures will be slow until we get home.
Tomorrow morning brings a sunrise hot air balloon rise and a trip to Aswan.
